Ciao from Toscana

We’ve been exploring the ancient hill towns of central and southern Tuscany. Volterra is very special, as are Montepulciano and Montalcino. Our group visited Innocenti, a small family-owned winery producing really excelling wines in Montefollonico.
While exploring the area our central base has been Siena, where we’ve stayed a few nights. Siena is an absolute gem and a must-see on any visit to Tuscany.

New Travel Photograph: Ostuni, Italy

The late afternoon sun strikes the hilltop town of Ostuni in the southern Italian province of Brindisi, in the region of Puglia. The area around Ostuni is very historic and has been inhabited since the Stone Age. Prints are available, for details please click the Purchase link above.

In January/February 2013 I traveled throughout the southern Italian region of Puglia with my friend and client Ron Cooper and his wife, Beth. (Ruth also joined us at the end of the trip, for a weekend in amazing city of Matera.) Ostuni was one of the best places [photographically] we visited; there was so much to explore and shoot around the area. I’m just now processing through my selects from the days we spent there; here’s an image made from a hillside overlooking the town. Next I’m working on stitching a sunrise panorama facing the other direction … it looks amazing, stay tuned! Click for a larger version
